As beautiful as the 2,500-year-old Acropolis is, says American visitor Caroline Kutek, the crowds are 'overwhelming'. Between 14,000 and 17,000 visitors visited the Acropolis in Athens in May, an increase of up to 70% compared to the same period last year.
