In a brand-new breeding building in Maine-et-Loire, in the west of France, hundreds of rabbits are frolicking in specially designed pens, while others are dozing in burrows of some kind. The aim is "to make them feel better, and to make them produce a little better too," explains Guillaume Godard, who started breeding rabbits a year ago, opting for a new breeding method that is more respectful of animal welfare.
