Description
In Paris, a day centre run by the Protestant Social Action Centre (CASP), through which almost 12,000 asylum seekers pass every year, has set up its own "micro-library". The small room provides a bubble for the children, while the parents go about their business, says Anne Babout, head of the Asylum Unit at the CASP." Ana Hours, head of operations for Bibliothèques Sans Frontières in France, agrees: "Today, libraries are really at the forefront of welcoming vulnerable and exiled populations. You can just turn up and find a place that's often beautiful, warm and welcoming."
