Iconic US guitar maker Fender will open its first global flagship store in Tokyo on Friday. Fender CEO Andy Mooney says it is the first flagship store for the 77-year-old manufacturer, with an acoustic room, where visitors can freely play and try out electric guitars with a headset and special silent system.
"We want to be able to relate with someone very skilled and very advanced, and interested in buying a custom shop guitar, but we also want to be very encouraging and very supportive of someone who wants to come in and simply pick up a guitar for the very first time," he says. IMAGES AND SOUNDBITES
