Despite a ban by the police prefecture, at least 2,000 people marched peacefully in Paris in memory of Adama Traoré, who died shortly after being questioned by gendarmes in 2016. "Today, France can give no moral lesson to any other country: its police force is racist. Its police are violent", his sister, Assa Traoré, told the demonstrators.
