Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov praises the "positive atmosphere" created by the restoration of diplomatic ties between longterm rivals Iran and Saudi Arabia, with Gulf Cooperation Council Secretary General Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi also labelling Iran a "brotherly neighbour". The comments come after talks in Moscow, with Russia seeking to ease relations between Iran, its important military ally, and the Middle Eastern countries who have pursued a more neutral stance on fighting in Ukraine.
