Description
In Ben Guerdane, 40 kilometres (25 miles) west of Ras Jedir, the Red Crescent turned a high school into a center, where migrants forced out of Tunisia's port of Sfax are being sheltered and given humanitarian aid. After racial tensions flared following the July 3 killing of a Tunisian man in an altercation between locals and migrants, hundreds of migrants from sub-Saharan countries fled or were forced out Sfax. "We are not killers, we are migrants," Mohammed, a migrant from Nigeria, who spent seven days in the desert between Tunisia and Libya, tells AFP. "We're just looking for a good life," he adds.
