Speaking at a final press conference at the end of a NATO summit in Vilnius, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky tells journalists that he believes Kyiv's membership of the US-led defence alliance will come when it prevails in its bitter fight against Russia's invasion. "I have only one goal - victory. With victory will come NATO membership, that's for sure", the Ukrainian president says. Zelensky had travelled to the landmark summit in the Lithuanian capital hoping to secure a concrete invitation, but was left disappointed when the 31-member Atlantic alliance could not agree on a firm timetable for Ukraine to join its ranks once the 16-month old Russian invasion has been defeated and peace restored.
