Description
This year's summer exhibition at Buckingham Palace in London displays the coronation outfits worn by King Charles and Queen Camilla and finely crafted objects such as the anointing screen used during the ceremony. The display lifts the lid on the design process of some newly commissioned items such as the stole royal and invitations, while showcasing historic objects such as the throne chairs from 1937 and the coronation girdle from 1911. "The really exciting thing about the summer display is that people will be able to see pieces like the Queen's robe, the beautiful embroidery, really close," says Sally Goodsir, curator of decorative arts at the Royal Collection Trust.
