Description
Tourists in Athens sweat in the sun as a heatwave brings scorching temperatures across Greece, with the Hellenic Red Cross on hand to distribute bottles of water to the many summer visitors to the Acropolis. The country's weather service earlier issued the year's first heatwave warning as temperatures are expected to rise to 43 degrees Celsius (109.4 Fahrenheit) over the weekend. Antonios Avgerinos, the President of the Hellenic Red Cross says his team "will distribute at least thirty thousand half-litre bottles of water on a daily basis." IMAGES AND SOUNDBITES
