Description
Long neglected, the mangroves of Guadeloupe have been the focus of increasing attention since 2000. They protect coasts from swell and erosion, purify water, act as nurseries for fish and have a high carbon storage capacity. In Guadeloupe, the Coastal Conservation Agency has launched an operation in the Jarry industrial zone to free the mangroves from businesses that have gradually and illegally moved in. The aim is to bring these areas back to life in order to reduce the risk of flooding. IMAGES AND SOUNDBITES ARRANGED IN SEQUENCES
