With a thermometer in the centre of Seville registering a temperature of 44 degrees Celsius, the city's tourists and residents alike are having to seek shelter from the blazing heat, bringing umbrellas out under clear blue skies and dousing their heads and hands in fountains. "We have been very surprised, especially because it starts to get hot very early in the morning," Alejandro Martinez, a consultant from Madrid tells AFP. IMAGES AND SOUNDBITES
