People gather at a makeshift memorial in the southern Russian city of Rostov-on-Don to pay tribute to Yevgeny Prigozhin, the head of the Wagner mercenary group. According to Russian officials, Prigozhin was on board a plane that crashed north-west of the capital Moscow on August 23, leaving no survivors -- the crash comes two months after he launched a short-lived rebellion against President Vladimir Putin that set off from Rostov-on-Don. In televised comments Russian President Vladimir Putin offered his condolences to the victims’ families and described the crash as a tragedy. IMAGES
