International poll observers say Zimbabwe's presidential and legislative elections failed to conform to "regional and international standards", casting doubt on the credibility of a tense vote. "Curtailed rights and a lack of level playing field led to an environment that was not always conducive to voters making a genuine and an informed choice" says the head of the EU observer mission, Fabio Massimo Castaldo, at a press conference.
