Description
"I felt like part of my face had been ripped off": Virgil R, a 24-year-old former soldier, lost an eye after being hit in the face by a rubber bullet known as a flash-ball while he was walking in Nanterre, a suburb of Paris, at the end of June. He describes a group of police officers telling him to "get lost" before falling to the ground. He has lodged a complaint with the French police disciplinary body "to ensure that justice is done".
