Started in July, the project, "Yumeichi Rakuza", got off to a difficult start as it coincided with controversy over Fukushima seafood, following last month's release of Fukushima wastewater into the Pacific and China's import bans on Japanese seafood. "The volume of exports (of Japanese seafood) has dropped by half (to neighboring Asian countries) such as China, but also Hong Kong and Macao", says Noshinobu Yoshihashi, a wholesaler at Toyosu fish market.
