Description
Visitors flock to Tokyo's Toyosu fish market to a stand promoting fish from the three Japanese regions hardest hit by the 2011 tsunami and nuclear disaster, including Fukushima. Started in July, the project, "Yumeichi Rakuza", got off to a difficult start as it coincided with controversy over Fukushima seafood, following last month's release of Fukushima wastewater into the Pacific and China's import bans on Japanese seafood.
"The volume of exports (of Japanese seafood) has dropped by half (to neighboring Asian countries) such as China, but also Hong Kong and Macao", says Noshinobu Yoshihashi, a wholesaler at Toyosu fish market. IMAGES AND SOUNDBITES
