Senator Robert Kennedy, former Attorney General under his brother President John F. Kennedy,
gave this speech in Chicago on February 8, 1968 as one of his first actions to break from
President Johnson and his stance on the Vietnam War. Robert Kennedy used this speech to start
his push for the presidential nomination.
