Description
Former Colombian soldier Francisco Pedraza trains to compete for the first time in the Invictus Games, the Olympics for wounded soldiers, in Dusseldorf. During an anti-guerrilla operation 19 years ago, Pedraza was blown up by a landmine explosion while trying to rescue two peasants kidnapped by Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC) rebels. He lost one leg in the explosion; the other was amputated due to incurable injuries from the mine. IMAGES AND SOUNDBITES
