Fire rages through an area of the Amazon rainforest in Iranduba, Manaus metropolitan region, northern Brazil. According to the National Institute for Space Research (INPE), more than 10,000 fires were recorded in Amazonas in 2023. In the first 6 days of September alone, there were approximately 2,600 outbreaks, 25% of the fire outbreaks for the whole year, some of which are very close to the roads. IMAGES
