In a workshop around 25 kilometres from the Russian capital, volunteers -- mostly elderly women -- work on camouflage nets, vital pieces of military equipment to be sent the soldiers on the front line in Ukraine. "It's for our boys who are over there" says Raisa, one of those at work, "we're ready to do anything to provide moral and material help". The volunteers, described by workshop manager Elena Poteryaeva as "rearguard soldiers", make everything from camouflage nets to underwear for soldiers cast by the Kremlin as heroes in a conflict that threatens Russia's very existence.
