Description
In La Pintana, the poorest neighborhood in Santiago, a rugby team trains in the winter sun wearing the colors of Chile's main Indigenous people, the Mapuche: red, green, light blue, black, and white. Trapiales was born as a project to bring social inclusion to vulnerable youth through rugby, a sport long viewed as belonging to the elite of Chilean society. "We are already competing as equals... which wasn't the case before," says Trapiales head coach Juan Sepulveda. IMAGES AND SOUNDBITES
