Description
People gather in the centre of The Hague for Prinsjesdag, the annual opening of the Dutch parliament, which takes place on the third Tuesday in September. The crowds watch the famous procession of the royal family waving from the royal carriage. This year, Alexia, the King's second daughter, will be attending the event for the first time. After the procession has passed through the city, the King will give his annual speech outlining the government's policy for the coming parliamentary session. "I come for the whole event: the procession, the beauty of it, the carriage, and of course I always want to know what Queen Maxima is wearing," says 52-year-old Piet Jelsma. IMAGES AND SOUNDBITES
