More than 85 years after building its first ski lift, Doppelmayr is building urban cable cars to provide cleaner and more space-efficient transport. The Austrian company is manufacturing the future "Cable C1" cable car in Wolfurt in rural Austria for Paris's first aerial tramway system. "Cable transport is often not considered at all in the planning stage," says Reinhard Fitz, Doppelmayr's International Business lead.
