Description
Dozens of migrants from Western Venezuela cross a river and climb over a barbed wire fence to arrive on American soil following a gruelling odyssey, walking thousands of miles.
"It is difficult because of the wires. You cut yourself, pass the river, the river's current carries you away," says Mari Buitriago after the exhausting trek through the Darien jungle.
Migrants take this risky journey as they become fed up with the government of Nicolas Maduro, whose rule has been marked by political turmoil and economic collapse. IMAGES AND SOUNDBITES
