Serbs in northern Kosovo light candles for the gunmen killed in the clashes with Kosovo police near the border with Serbia at the weekend as their lead political party called for several days of mourning. On Sunday, a Kosovo police officer was killed during an ambush which was followed by a gunbattle at a monastery in the village of Banjska, marking one of the gravest escalations in Kosovo for years.
