Description
Workers for a General Motors plant in Belleville, Michigan, react after US President Joe Biden joins them and becomes the first sitting US president to stand on a picket line. "The politics really isn't part of the strike, but it is great to have candidates show their support for us, and show that we deserve to get the pay that we've helped the companies make," says Kristy Zometsk who has been at the plant for 9 years, following in the steps of her uncle and father. Another plant worker who is set to retire next year, Curtis Cranford, says the visit "means a lot" but that he's still planning to vote Republican in 2024 because of "social causes" like immigration and abortion.
