Activists from the organisation Ending Clerical Abuse (ECA) demonstrate outside the Vatican, demanding a zero tolerance approach to members of the clergy found guilty of sexual abuse. The demonstration is timed to coincide with the opening of the Bishops' Synod, due to start on October 4. "We want church leaders to hear this" says Robert Fontana, an ECA activist and therapist, "there needs to be zero tolerance". Earlier in September, the Swiss Catholic Church was rocked by revelations of sexual abuse, in which a study identified almost a thousand victims and an extensive cover up. IMAGES AND SOUNDBITES
