Lorry drivers form long queues in Ciudad Juarez at the Mexico-US border as US authorities impose increased checks and closed certain crossings amid a spike in migration. According to the government of the northern Chihuahua state, more than 51 million dollars were lost on Friday 29 September alone as over 700 cargo vehicles were denied entry. "Sometimes we are queueing for up to twelve hours," says one lorry driver. The Mexican government has said it is overwhelmed by the number of migrants crossing into its territory, while American border authorities reported almost 233,000 crossings into the United States in August.
