UK Health Secretary Steve Barclay criticises striking doctors, accusing them of "relentlessly demanding massive pay rises". His comments come as consultants and junior doctors are in the midst of a new 72-hour stoppage, the latest in a series of strikes over pay and the cost of living crisis. Speaking at the Conservative Party conference in Manchester, Barclay also announces that he will "change the NHS constitution" to "respect the privacy, dignity and safety of all patients, recognise the importance of different biological needs and protect the rights of women."
