Western Europe's highest peak, Mont Blanc in France, has shrunk 2.22 metres in two years, officials say after the mountain was measured at 4,805.59 metres in September 2023. It was last measured in 2021.
The news is announcd by Jean des Garets, president of the Haute-Savoie departmental chamber of surveyors, at a press briefing in Chamonix. IMAGES
