Description
Wojciech Przybylski, a political scientist with the Visegrad Insight group, believes that Poland's Law and Justice party (PiS), which has been in power since 2015, will have difficulty forming a new government even if it wins a majority in upcoming parliamentary elections this Sunday. According to the polls, PiS would get around 34 percent of the vote against 30 for the Civic Coalition (centrist), 11 for the Third Way (Christian Democrats), 10 for the Confederation (far-right) and 8 for the New Left (socialist). "Should the incumbent government prevail for the third term in Poland, which would be unprecedented" Przybylski says, "the vibes of nationalism and anti-Europeanism will prevail and get stronger."
