In the French village of Villers-le-Lac, on the border between France and Switzerland, the River Doubs has been reduced to a gully that continues to dry up, much to the despair of the local population. "Years ago, people said that in 50 years' time they'd be mowing in the Doubs, so we're not even surprised anymore," says local resident Pierre Billod.
