A farewell ceremony is held at St. Michael's Cathedral in Kyiv, for the Ukrainian officer Ilia Dolmatov (call sign Batman), who died on August 30 on the southeastern front of Ukraine. His body was delivered to his relatives 2.5 months after he died, but the circumstances surrounding his death have not been disclosed. “He laid down his soul for all of us, I am very grateful to him,” says military chaplain Valery.
