Yoni Asher, whose German wife and two young daughters were forcibly abducted on October 7 from the Israeli kibbutz of Nir Oz and taken to Gaza, took part in a pro-Israeli demonstration in Berlin and then agreed to give interviews from his hotel room. The 37-year-old has no news of his wife, Doron Asher Katz, or of his 5- and 3-year-old children, Raz and Aviv. All he knows is that his mother-in-law, who was also taken hostage, was killed by Hamas. He now hopes that the support of Germany and the international community will enable the safe release of his family. "It's an international matter and it regards the entire Western world" he says.
