Honduras extradites drug lord Erasmo Avila -- known as "El Monstruo" -- to the United States at the request of the Eastern District Court of Virginia. Since 2014, 38 people have been extradited from Honduras to the US, most notably former president Juan Orlando Hernandez, accused of facilitating the smuggling of 500 tons of cocaine in exchange for millions of dollars in bribes.
