Description
King Charles III is due to embark on a four-day trip to Kenya, his first visit as monarch to a Commonwealth nation, where any comments he makes on Britain's colonial past will be closely scrutinised. "So let him visit and see what is happening, the crap which we are having here and the colonial thing which is not yet over. He should change this" says Furaha Mwangangi in the streets of Nairobi. Paul Gitau, a public service vehicle driver, by contrast says: 'as a Kenyan I am very excited because I know when the King or the Queen comes, I know Kenya will gain a lot." Charles is expected to tackle "the more painful aspects" of the UK's historic relationship with Kenya -- namely the period of British rule, which ended in 1963, Buckingham Palace has said.
