Description
Speaking at a press conference at the end of the European Council summit in Brussels, French President Emmanuel Macron defends "a decisive relaunch of negotiations for a two-state solution", which would meet "Palestinian aspirations" and strengthen "Israel's security too". Asked about the Paris police prefect's ban on the demonstration in support of the Palestinian people scheduled for this Saturday in the French capital, Macron says he had "confidence" in the prefect, pointing out that "these decisions are taken on a case-by-case basis" and that "several demonstrations have been authorised when they were in support of the Palestinian cause for peace" whilst others were "banned when the organisers were sometimes ambiguous or when their intention was rather to send messages in support of Hamas".
