Description
The dormant Cesena Torinese bobsleigh track is ready to come to the aid of the troubled Milan-Cortina edition in just under two years' time. The track was initially built for the 2006 Winter Olympics, but sun, snow and the passage of time has impacted the track, which snakes down the Piedmontese Alps. While many locals were seduced by plans for a Ski Dome, in which the bobsleigh track would be demolished and on the same site a new indoor skiing centre was to be build , some have expressed scepticism about the project. "There has never been a meeting held in the town to explain in technical and management terms how this thing will be structured," says Daniele Golier who used to used to work on the sliding track of Cesana Torinese.
