Description
Denmark, which has one of the most restrictive immigration policies in Europe, passed a controversial law in 2018 to redevelop poor urban "ghettos" with high concentrations of immigrant populations by 2030. Residents of Mjolnerparken, a district of Copenhagen, are suing Denmark and the European Court of Justice is due to rule in the coming months. Salah Zada, a Syrian refugee and youth spokesman for the Danish Refugee Council, says integration policy is non-existent: "They have a symbolic policy that says: You will never be part of everyday life here, you are here for now and then you have to go."
