People and livestock move through high water in a Paraguayan town after El Nino caused massive flooding of the Parana River forcing entire families to leave their homes. In the city of Ayolas, in the Department of Misiones, 300 kilometers from Paraguay's capital, hundreds of homes were left under water. Residents saved what they had on hand and sought shelter on higher ground. The Parana River, shared by Paraguay, Brazil and Argentina, has risen in recent days, prompting also the closure of border crossings.
