Description
A revolutionary helmet developed by US telecoms giant AT&T for the Gallaudet University American football team aims to make the game more inclusive by enhancing on-field communication for deaf and hard of hearing athletes. The helmet, powered by 5G technology, enables visual exchanges between the coach and players through an augmented-reality eyepiece, and was allowed to be used for the first time during a game on October 7, 2023. "It's the way of the future," head coach Chuck Goldstein tells AFP, adding that the possibilities are "endless." IMAGES AND SOUNDBITES ARRANGED IN SEQUENCES
