Description
Fans of baseball's Hanshin Tigers celebrate winning the Japan Series by leaping into the Dotonbori river in Osaka. Long-suffering fans of the Japan's most passionately supported team watched the face off against Orix Buffaloes at a public viewing event at their home stadium, willed on by cheerleaders. Others celebrated across the Kansai region, including in Osaka, like 22-year-old fan Yoko Sakai. "I wasn't born at the time of the last championship [in 1985], so I am very excited because I might be able to see them winning the championship for the first time," she said before the game.
