"I'm very happy with the winner we've chosen, it's a prodigiously romantic book and that's something that's a bit lacking these days," says writer Françoise Chandernagor, a member of the jury for France's top literary Goncourt Prize, which has just been awarded to former film director Jean-Baptiste Andrea for his novel "Veiller sur elle" ("Watch Over Her") set in Italy's dark fascist years.
