Description
85 years later, the Jewish youth of Vienna, Austria, commemorates the November Nazi pogroms with a march. "That is very important (to be here, ed), because my parents and grandparents were involved in the persecution of Jews and I want young people to do better than my grandparents, who killed in the war. And that must never happen again", says 66-year-old kindergarten teacher Gabriele Frank, before the 2000-demonstrators march. During the night of November 10, 1938, synagogues in Austria were set on fire, Jewish stores were looted and Jews were mistreated. Since 2012, the Youth Commission of the Jewish Community Vienna has organized the "Light of Hope" memorial march to commemorate the November pogroms. IMAGES AND SOUNDBITES
