Description
Writer and environmentalist Ailton Krenak became the first Indigenous person to be welcomed into the Brazilian Academy of Letters, which he says represents "a historical reparation to the native peoples." During an interview at the Tomie Ohtake Institute, where there is an exhibition of photographs by Hiromi Nagakura curated by Krenak, he discusses issues in Brazil and the planet. "I hope that the diversity of life on the planet can get rid of humans and move forward," says Krenak. IMAGES AND SOUNDBITES
