Marie and her children are sleeping in a cultural centre on the outskirts of Lyon, with around thirty homeless families, victims of the emergency accommodation crisis. The children's voices fill the centre in Villeurbanne, which has been occupied for a week. Since the end of September, a dozen or so schools in and around Lyon have also been displaying banners proclaiming "Children are sleeping here" and French MP Marie-Charlotte Garin spent the night in one of these schools, a move designed to draw the attention of the public and, above all, the government.
