Metamorphosed after six years of refurbishment, the Musee de la Marine (Navy museum) in Paris reopens amid loud applause from its staff, who form a guard of honor to welcome its first visitors. Enhanced by a new, streamlined architecture and a scenography inspired by the waves, the old institution in the Palais de Chaillot, now dusted off, aims to triple its visitor numbers and also hopes to attract a younger audience.
