African Union Chairman and Comoran President Azali Assoumani calls Israel's response to the Hamas attack on October 7 "inexcusable", at a press conference organised in Berlin during the G20 Compact with Africa conference. Israel has vowed to destroy Hamas in response to its attacks on 7 October, which killed an estimated 1,200 people, mostly civilians, and saw 240 hostages taken to Gaza. The Hamas-run health ministry in Gaza says Israel's ensuing aerial bombardment and ground offensive have killed more than 13,000 people, mostly civilians, including thousands of children. SOUNDBITE
