Description
Dmitry Muratov, Editor-in-Chief of Russian newspaper Novaya Gazeta and the 2021 Nobel Peace Prize winner, reacts to losing an appeal in court after being declared a "foreign agent", a label authorities commonly use to stifle critics. Reacting outside a Moscow courtroom to the decision, which could subject him to significantly stricter audits and censorship, Muratov declares to AFP that "the journalistic profession has been banned in Russia", and that the court's decision violates the Russian constitution.
