Description
Speaking in Skopje, North Macedonia, before an informal meeting of regional NATO allies, the organisation's General Secretary Jens Stoltenberg welcomes the deal struck between Israel and Hamas to free at least 50 hostages, while offering Gaza residents a four-day truce. The deal, which Stoltenberg says will "enable the delivery of humanitarian aid", comes after weeks of intense fighting in the Gaza Strip, with Israel responding to Hamas' deadly October 7 attack that killed 1,200 people and saw 240 more taken hostage. In Gaza, the Hamas-run health ministry says that 14,100 people have been killed. IMAGES AND SOUNDBITES
